Lamb chop experiment.
While I was at Kroger recently, I really checked out the meat department for something different and decided on lamb chops.
I have tried lamb once in my life, it was at Texas de Brazil in Memphis which basically can be called "The
awesome restaurant of meats".
It is a Churrascaria restaurant.
Which means that they bring all kinds of meat to your table and you eat until you want to pop. Well, something like that. If you haven't been, you need to experience it. I had a food hangover the day after we went.
This is my little lamb chop, just put on the grill. It marinated for 48 hours in soy sauce.
After researching, I found that the lamb needed to be 140-145 degrees internally to be done. So, after cooking for about 5-6 minutes per side, I checked and it was 145 degrees. I removed it an immediately wrapped it in foil. This will raise the temp a few degrees more and keep the juices inside the meat.
Okay, now for the verdict...I am definitely not in love with the lamb. It was good, but a little "gamey" for my tastebuds. If you like deer or other similar meats, you should try it, because you might like this as well. For now, I will stick to salmon.
Although the lamb looks pretty on my grill..
Love what you eat and eat what you love! :)
